Mathew Hayden’s cyclonic innings ensured victory for CSK: DDD 185/6 (20.0 Ovs), CSK 190/5 (19.1 Ovs)

Chennai Super kings beat strong Delhi Devils with a cyclonic innings from ex Aussie opener Mathew Hayden. Chasing a big total of 186 runs from allocated 20 over Hayden was on the task right from the beginning. He smashed all Delhi bowlers and played a memorable and dashing innings of 93 runs from just 43 balls with 7 six and 9 boundaries. He took the game away from Devils. Suresh Raina made the finishing task with an innings of 49 run. Earlier, Virender Sehwag played another outstanding innings of 74 runs from just 38 balls. But he did not get good support from his fellow. But they still managed to score 185 runs from their allocated overs.

Delhi captain Dinesh Kartik said, the way Hayden was batting, he took the game away from us. 185 was a good score but the bowlers failed to win it for us. It would have gone either way if we had bowled well in the first 6 overs.

Chennai captain Suresh Raina said, Hayden, Murali played really well. It's not easy to bat with Hayden, you have to be on your toes always. Tough to play with Dhoni not in the playing eleven, hope he will be back soon. Our fielding was good, thanks to the fielding coach.

Man of the match Mathew Hayden said, Mongoose bat helped me and I have been practicing a lot of late. The bat has the same power as the normal one; you don't need to get the meat of the blade to deposit the ball over the ropes. This format is here to stay.
